When the phone can’t read a card on its own, an AI check can identify it. To do that, the app sends the card’s photo to Anthropic, our AI provider.

  1. The first time, the app asks Identify cards with AI. Tap Allow or Not now.
  2. To change it later, open Settings → Scanning and prices → Card scanner and turn AI card checks on or off.
  • With AI checks off, the phone’s own reader and Search still work.
  • The same answer covers slab label photos in Verify a slab.
  • We don’t keep the photos sent for an AI check. Anthropic keeps them for a limited time under its own terms.
  • Scans saved with no signal wait for your answer before any photo is sent.

Help improve card scanning

If you turn on 'Help improve card scanning', we keep the cropped picture of each card you confirm, with the card it was. We use these to build and improve card recognition, including products and services we may offer to others. The pictures aren't linked to your account, we never keep the rest of the camera view, and you can turn this off at any time.

  • It’s off until you turn it on, on every plan: Settings → Scanning and prices → Card scanner → Help improve card scanning.
  • After a few scans the app asks once, Help improve card scanning? Tap Turn on or No thanks. It doesn’t ask again.
  • Turning it off stops sending right away.

AI checks a month: 25 on Collector, 75 on Collector Pro, 150 on Vendor and 500 on Vendor Pro. A Bulk scan photo uses 2. The count starts again on the 1st.

Tip. The Card scanner row in Settings shows how many AI checks you have left this month.
